Jake Moszkowski's SGP Pick

Current SGP picks challenge ROI: -4.0

Week after week, I think the same thing. How could we get yet another Thursday Night Football matchup that’s so… uninspiring? Unfortunately, that’s how I feel about TNF heading into Week 6, which pits the Kansas City Chiefs against the Denver Broncos. I’ve yet to hit on every leg of my SGP, so fingers crossed that this is the one.

The Denver Broncos are an utterly uninspiring team. Led by Russell Wilson (who has looked better) and Sean Payton (who has been largely outclassed as a coach), the Broncos sit at 1-4, with their only victory coming in a comeback win over the Chicago Bears. Their opponent? The Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs, who are 4-1.

Despite the Chiefs’ dominance, four of their last five games (in their H2H’s with the Broncos) have been decided by a touchdown or less, and Travis Kelce has been limited with an ankle injury. That said, the Broncos feature the NFL’s worst defense. The Broncos have allowed 30 points on three different occasions this season, even yielding 70 to the Miami Dolphins a few weeks ago.

I’ll take the Chiefs -10.5, assuming the Broncos will continue to be miserable defensively. I’ll also take the over on passing yards for both Patrick Mahomes (O274.5) and Russell Wilson (O227.5), along with Jerry Jeudy’s under on receiving yards (U56.5). Jeudy has largely underwhelmed since being drafted in the first round by Denver, and I think that trend of underwhelming performances will continue.

Odds: +1627

Graham Eversden's SGP Pick

Current SGP Challenge ROI: +0.69

This parlay is the “Russ gets benched” special. Russel Wilson plays so bad in the first half that the Chiefs go up big early and win the first half by a large margin. Then he gets benched at half time, so he doesn’t reach either his pass attempts or passing yardage props. Also, the Broncos don’t score enough points to get the game total over 51.5.

Odds: +595
