SGP Challenge Week 13: Beat The Huddle Trader

Thanksgiving was interesting. For starters, I got engaged. Always a pleasant time being able to spend the holidays with your loved ones (as well as your now-fiancé). The food? Always amazing – going back home to eat turkey, stuffing, gravy with my family is always a delight. Watching football with them was also a great time – imagine beer after beer, glass of wine after glass of wine, all while talking about the games.
Unfortunately for me, I went 2 outta 3 on all three of my three-leg parlays. Pain.

Dallas Cowboys -10.5 ✅
Dak Prescott O268 passing yards ✅
CeeDee Lamb O89.5 receiving yards ❌

Deebo Samuel O53.5 receiving yards ✅
Christian McCaffrey O75 rushing yards ✅
D.K. Metcalf O55.5 receiving yards ❌

Jared Goff O1.5 passing touchdowns ✅
Jared Goff O258.5 passing yards ✅
AJ Dillon O48 rushing yards ❌

If I had just done a big ol’ six-leg parlay with my winners, I could’ve won $300 on a $10 bet. Oh well. Onto the next one.

This week actually features quite the fun Thursday Night Football game. I’m excited – I feel like we’ve had some clunkers recently, and this is a game I’m genuinely ready to watch. The red-hot Dallas Cowboys play host to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, with each team trending in opposite directions. The Cowboys are gunning for their fourth consecutive win, while the Seahawks have dropped three of their past four affairs.

For me, I’m leaning towards betting on the Cowboys. They have an elite defense, even in a year without Trevon Diggs. CB DaRon Bland has been a revelation, setting the NFL record for pick-sixes in a season (5) with 5 games left to play. Dak Prescott has been playing top-notch football, enough for him to start getting MVP chatter. They’ve got an All-Pro receiver in CeeDee Lamb, a Pro Bowl quality running back, and a solid offensive line. Heck, even Brandon Aubrey is having a great season for them at kicker. I’ll take the Cowboys moneyline and the over in this game, as I’m expecting some more offensive fireworks. I’ll even pitch in Dak Prescott O1.5 passing touchdowns. That said, after getting burned by CeeDee’s over last week, I’ll take him U87.5 receiving yards this week.

As far as the Seahawks go, they’re a viable playoff contender, but they have to get back on track this week. That starts with DK Metcalf as far as I’m concerned, so I’m taking DK O59.5 receiving yards. If he can’t do that, this game could get out of hand really quickly. For Geno Smith to succeed, the Seattle offensive line must stand up against a dominant Dallas pass rush group. Charles Cross is playing at a high level and the Seahawks will hope Abraham Lucas returns – otherwise they could be in for a long game against Cowboys’ star pass rushers DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons.

The Cowboys have been running away from teams lately, and I think the trend continues on Thursday with the Cowboys running up the score in the second half. I can see Seattle keeping it close for a while before falling apart, especially offensively where I don’t see them putting up points.
