Super Bowl 2025: Game Breakdown & Huddle’s New Player Props

American sports, particularly football, revolve around a series of discrete events that ultimately shape the outcome of the game. These events can be further dissected into granular player actions, each of which can be quantified and measured. This is nothing new - it's the reason why U.S. sports have historically been far more data-rich than their European counterparts.

The growing popularity of Player Props among American bettors was always predictable, but what’s truly striking is the extent to which they drive the success of Same Game Parlays (SGPs). Mapping the interactions between these betting lines programmatically is a challenge, but it presents an exciting puzzle for bettors to solve. In today’s market, an optimized user experience demands that all football betting lines be combinable, with cash-out available for both pre-game and in-play wagers.

With the beginning of the playoffs, we’ve introduced several new NFL Player Prop markets to reach market parity with Tier-1 operators. We're ready for Super Bowl!

The Final Battle: Eagles vs. Chiefs

In a blink of an eye, we’ve come down to the final game of the NFL season: the Super Bowl. The playoffs were an absolute treat this year. We saw the upstart Washington Commanders beat the favored Tampa Bay Buccaneers and #1 seed Detroit Lions in back-to-back weekends. We saw the Baltimore Ravens fall to the Bills on a failed two-point conversion that could’ve tied the game in the final minutes. Once again, we witnessed the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills behind more brilliance from Patrick Mahomes and some questionable calls from the referees.

But now, all of that is behind us. Now, we look forward to the biggest American sporting event of the year. The Super Bowl regularly draws over one hundred million unique viewers on television, with nearly 50% of American households tuning in to the big game. Commercial values for this year’s iteration are at an all-time high - with some commercial slots going for over $8M USD per 30 seconds.

The crazy thing about all of that is none of it takes into account the amount riding on this Super Bowl - both from a betting perspective, but also a legacy perspective. This is just the ninth Super Bowl rematch in NFL history. The Eagles, led by Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, are looking to avenge their Super Bowl Loss from just a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

Predictions for the Game

Saquon Barkley to Exceed 100 Rushing Yards
At first glance, this seems like a reasonable expectation. Barkley has had one of the most dominant rushing seasons in NFL history, and surpassing 100 yards on the biggest stage would further solidify his legacy. However, the Chiefs’ defense, under Steve Spagnuolo, has never allowed a 100-yard rusher in the postseason. The last time they conceded 100+ rushing yards was back in Week 1—to Lamar Jackson.

Eagles +7.5, but Chiefs Moneyline
This alternative spread may seem unusual, but hear me out. The Chiefs have been the kings of one-score games this season. I expect this game to be decided by three or four points, with Kansas City ultimately prevailing. Mahomes’ brilliance, combined with officiating trends that often favor the Chiefs, gives them the edge. I anticipate Kansas City taking control in the first half, with Philadelphia making a push in the second.

Over 3.5 Field Goals Made
When these teams last met, there were eight extra points and only three successful field goals. However, I anticipate a higher field goal count this time. While I don't have a purely data-driven reason for this, my intuition suggests we’ll see four or even five field goal attempts in this Super Bowl. Last time, Harrison Butker missed a field goal (going 1-for-2), which played a role in the lower count.

Over 53.5 Total Points Scored
This was perhaps the easiest bet to make. It wouldn’t be shocking if this total is surpassed by the third quarter. The Chiefs are peaking at the right time, finally scoring 31+ points for the first time all season in their 32-29 win over the Bills. Meanwhile, the Eagles put up a 50+ point performance against the Commanders. A 60+ point combined total is well within reach for this game.

With the biggest game of the year just days away, all eyes will be on Las Vegas as the Eagles and Chiefs battle for the ultimate prize. Whether it's betting action, legacy-defining performances, or history in the making, this Super Bowl promises to be one for the ages.

The Super Bowl isn’t just the pinnacle of the NFL season - it’s a massive moment for bettors, sportsbooks, and the entire sports betting industry.
