SGP Challenge: Betting Pro vs Huddle Quant!
BlogSGP Challenge: Betting Pro vs Huddle Quant!
This Thursday Night Football, we’re bringing you the ultimate Same Game Parlay (SGP) showdown! On one side, we have Toni Ruščić, Huddle's sharp Quant armed with advanced analytics and cutting-edge modeling. On the other, a professional bettor who relies on experience, and deep knowledge of the game. Together, they’ll break down the NFC East clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders, delivering their top SGP picks for this much-anticipated matchup. Let’s see who comes out on top in this battle bets!
One week after an absolute divisional war took place on Thursday Night Football, we’re rewarded with what should be another tightly contested division matchup. Last week, the Baltimore Ravens squeaked by their rival Cincinnati Bengals by one point after the Bengals unsuccessfully attempted a two-point conversion down one point in the fourth quarter. This week, we’re treated to an NFC East battle between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders.
Both of these teams currently rank in the top-10 for points per game, so expecting some offensive fireworks isn’t out of the equation. Philadelphia is currently trending as a -3.5 favorite, with the line moving slightly (and perhaps without merit) after they demolished a Cowboys team missing Dak Prescott. Meanwhile, the Commanders only trail the Eagles by a half game in the NFC East Division Race, with Philly sitting at 7-2 and Washington sitting at 7-3, so there are significant ramifications for the winner (and loser) of this game.
Philadelphia is riding a five-game winning streak into Thursday, but all five of those wins have come against teams currently under .500. Meanwhile, the Commanders lost a heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Steelers were fresh off a bye week and the Commanders actually held a double-digit point lead at one point in the game.
Pro Bettor Picks
I’m taking the Commanders +3.5, as I think they’ll be capable of keeping this game close.
I’m also taking A.J. Brown, the WR1 for the Eagles, as an anytime TD scorer. He’s scored touchdowns in three of the six games for which he has been healthy this year, and the Commanders do give up quite a bit through the air. I like my chances of a big Brown game, even with the possibility of the Commanders getting some defensive back reinforcements if Marshon Lattimore is able to suit up.
Lastly, I’m taking Saquon Barkley O13.5 receiving yards. He’s been in-and-out of the passing game for Philly this year, but the Commanders have struggled at times defending the quick passing game to RBs, with Jaylen Warren (29 receiving yards), D’Onta Foreman (16 receiving yards), and Zach Moss (39 receiving yards) finding success. Saquon Barkley is several tiers above those RBs, both as a runner and as a receiver. I think he’ll be able to surpass 13.5 receiving yards if he receives multiple targets in the passing game.
Huddle Quant Toni Picks
- Eagles win by 5 or more points difference
- A.J. Brown anytime touchdown scorer
- Saquon Barkley anytime touchdown scorer
- Saquon Barkley over 94.5 rushing yards
- Jayden Daniels under 1.5. passing touchdowns
Philadelphia Eagles are on 5 wins streak with 7-2 record for the season. They welcome surprise of the season, Washington Commanders with 7-3 record. Commanders are shaky last few weeks and I am expecting here Eagles to win at least by touchdown difference.
I am backing Barkley to score touchdown and has over 92.5 yards. Commanders has one of the worst run defenses in the league with allowing opponent 142 rushing yards per game and allowing 4.8 yards per run. Barkley went 6 times out of 9 games over this line this season and he is 2nd RB in the league for yards per game with 110 yards and scoring 8 touchdowns in 9 games.
A.J. Brown is one of pivotal players of Eagles passing game. He scored 21 TD for Eagles in 40 games in last 3 seasons. He is currently on 3 games streak without scoring touchdown so it is time to break the drought.
Last leg I add is future Rookie of the year Jayden Daniels who is playing spectacular football to not score 2 or more Passing touchdowns. He just score 9 passing touchdowns in 10 games and 1 of those 9 was Hail Mary against Bears. In only 3 games he scored multiple passing touchdowns and never more than 2. Eagles are in top 5 for pass defense. Expecting under here for Daniels.
