I’m not going to lie. We’re going to wipe the slate clean from last week’s predictions, for both myself and Graham. Why? Because the entire context of the game changed the minute the Bengals ruled out starting QB Joe Burrow with a wrist injury (one that we would later learn was a torn ligament/tendon that prematurely ended his season).
Anyway – we live and move on to this week. With three Thursday football games for the biggest and best football weekend of the fall - Thanksgiving challenge, here we come. I’m offering three separate three-leg parlays – one for each game. Let’s see how we do!
We’ll start with the division rival matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers. I’ll probably be heading to a family Thanksgiving meal when this game kicks off, but I’m excited to watch the NFL’s leader in Thanksgiving football appearances. The Lions will hosting their 84th (!) Bird Day game, and the Lions are favored for the first time since 2016. They’ve won seven straight divisional affairs (including a 4-1 record in their past five versus the Packers). The Packers, down Aaron Jones, have their work cut out for them. I’ll take Jared Goff O255.5 passing yards, Jared Goff O1.5 passing touchdowns and AJ Dillon O49.5 rushing yards. +383.
Next, we’ll look at the game most likely to be a huge blowout. Yes, we’re talking about the Washington Commanders likely getting absolutely sauced (with cranberries) against the Dallas Cowboys. This should be a mid-meal game in my household. The Cowboys are riding a 12-game home winning streak, and the Commanders just lost humiliatingly to a Giants team featuring Tommy DeVito at the QB position. I’ll take the Cowboys -10.5, Dak Prescott O275.5 passing yards and CeeDee Lamb O91.5 receiving yards. This one should be ugly. +386.
Lastly, the nightcap game sees the San Francisco 49ers take on the Seattle Seahawks. Given that I’m likely going to be stuffed with turkey and a few Thanksgiving glasses of wine, I’m happy to see a matchup between two teams that I think of as pretty good. The 49ers are a good team, but I think the loss of All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga might loom large against a Seahawks offense featuring three very good WRs. That said, the oblique injury that will likely keep Kenneth Walker out is a big blow, and Geno Smith is nursing an elbow injury. Dear world – Drew Lock still sucks. We’ll take Christian McCaffrey O75.5 rushing yards, Deebo Samuel O45.4 receiving yards and DK Metcalf O64.5 receiving yards. +540.
Bring it on!

Starting with the early game, which I will only be able to watch about the first quarter of before sitting down to eat with my family. Therefore, I want a bet that should settle early in the game. I think the Packer’s defense forces the Lions offense into some long drives, and Dan Campbell is a mad man on fourth down who will not kick a field goal to open Thanksgiving scoring.
Everyone I know is using the Cowboys in Survivor on Thanksgiving, so surely the Commanders make them sweat and keep this game close. Howell will be running for his life against this Cowboys pass rush, but I bet he escapes a few times to hit his rushing total. I think both teams move the ball well here and the total flies over
In the nightcap, I think the trend of primetime unders continues. Geno Smith isn’t at 100%, but I still think he finds Smith-Njigba on a few screen passes. The Seahawks’ defense gets Jamal Adams back and I like them to confuse Brock Purdy with the help of a raucous crowd.
We'll be attributing 1 unit per SGP selection for the challenge.
